Description
It's a wild and colorful event in Seattle's International District, Chinatown.. This is the year of the snake. I saw this Lion coming out from the lower street level, and ran with my camera to where they were! So many people in the streets! Firecrackers, and the pounding drums going at the same time! It is very loud! So many people in the street to celebrate, food, colors, Chinese Red Lanterns everywhere! Good food, and people watching of course!
Come to Seattle’s Chinatown-International District’s Year of the Snake celebration! Enjoy world class cultural performances, from Dragon and Lion Dances to Japanese Taiko Drumming, to the Massive Monkees, and the FYA Drill Team! Come explore Hing Hay Park’s Cultural Pavilion with arts and crafts for kids of all ages! Special guest – Reptile Man will be onsite with 15 different snakes and reptiles! Foodies will be able to take part in the annual $2 Food Walk with over 20 restaurants offering $2 tasting menus! Come eat your way around the neighborhood for a chance to win some amazing prizes! New this year will be the first Uwajimaya Lunar New Year Scavenger Hunt, with a chance to win a trip for two to Hawaii and many other great prizes.
