Artist's Description

What a wonderful band that was playing this night. I was entranced and mesmerized by this wonderful instrument. Not only was it wonderful to listen to, it was gorgeous to look at. Very detailed accordion. I don't know much about them, but this one sure is pretty! Here's some information about the Accordion.
The History of the Accordion:

The accordion is a relative newcomer on the music scene, having been invented in the early 1800s in Europe (drawing from the concept of older Chinese instruments) and only taking shape in its modern form later in that century. Because the accordion was able to make such a loud sound (remember, amplification hadn't come around yet), it became quite popular, especially for dance music.Accordions in America:

It is believed that most accordions came to America with traveling German merchants, and gained popularity in various communities, including Germanic regions of the northern midwest, French Louisiana, and the Texas/Mexico border...

About Kym Backland

Kym Backland

Capturing a moment in time, is one of the best emotions. I love seeing something thru the lens and holding it near you as long as you can. I like for that image to be caught by surprise. A pure emotion. That to me is usually the most interesting. Anyways.... Photography is my medium. I do enjoy photographing those "Funny Animals" I see along the way........Laughter gets you thru a lot of hard times...I appreciate you taking the time to see what I see..... As you might have noticed I have never written a biography about myself for over 2 years. I figured I had better write one now. I'm definitely not going to write my "BIO" in the third person, so that I sound more important than I really am. Should I warn you that I have "run on"...
