Excellent capture. Love the look and long razor sharp finger on this critter. Once had a family of these in my attic and had to do battle. They are mean when confronted with babies in tow.

Artist's Description

All hands on deck for this baby coon. This little young raccoon looks sort of lost! He waits and waits, until he sees a face! I think he is waiting to see my face, or a brother or sister, or probably his Mother!
Here is some of that annoying information you may or may not want to know about the Raccoon..

Mortality and Longevity.Raccoons die from encounters with vehicles, hunters, and trappers, and from disease, starvation, and predation. Young raccoons are the main victims of starvation, since they have very little fat reserves to draw from during food shortages in late winter and early spring. Raccoon predators include cougars, bobcats, coyotes, and domestic dogs. Large owls and eagles will prey on young raccoons. About Kym Backland

Kym Backland

Capturing a moment in time, is one of the best emotions. I love seeing something thru the lens and holding it near you as long as you can. I like for that image to be caught by surprise. A pure emotion. That to me is usually the most interesting. Anyways.... Photography is my medium. I do enjoy photographing those "Funny Animals" I see along the way........Laughter gets you thru a lot of hard times...I appreciate you taking the time to see what I see..... As you might have noticed I have never written a biography about myself for over 2 years. I figured I had better write one now. I'm definitely not going to write my "BIO" in the third person, so that I sound more important than I really am. Should I warn you that I have "run on"...
