Description
This Robin is the funniest bird I have seen in years. She's really quite kooky! She laid 3 eggs, but left them in the nest. They were undisturbed, but she left them anyways. I'm always curious why and after weeks of sitting on them she split. When this Robin takes a bath, she goes all in. She bathes with gusto! I have to fill up the bird bath after she is finished. There Is not a drop of water in the bird bath after she leaves..
The quintessential early bird, American Robins are common sights on lawns across North America, where you often see them tugging earthworms out of the ground. Robins are popular birds for their warm orange breast, cheery song, and early appearance at the end of winter. Though theyre familiar town and city birds, American Robins are at home in wilder areas, too, including mountain forests and Alaskan wilderness.

Oh Kym this made me laugh out loud. It is so cute and brings back memories when I too had a birdbath! I used to have a finch (male and old wild one) play with me. He would spray water at me (and my camera) just for fun. He and I got along extremely well and he never feared me. I miss him. I think they don't live too long... that male is no longer around. But one day his photos will surface as I am cleaning my hard drives. :)

Very cute title and shot Kym, thanks for the smile! One reason birds abandon their eggs is after sitting on them for the gestation period if they feel or sense no movement they leave the nest, this usually happens in young or older birds, the eggs are just not fertile..v/f
