Description
This World Famous Bob's Java Jive, Coffee Pot Place is a very iconic place in Tacoma, Washington. It reminds me of a place that would have been on Route 66 in her day!

CHUCK HICKS, Happy Tuesday to ya! Thanks for the multiple features today Chuck. I appreciate the feature of my photo BOB'S JAVA JIVE COFFEE POT in your group AAA IMAGES. I know always try to submit "different" kinds of photos.

Correction. I said it looked much more commercial. Not really it is about the same. It was still called the Java Jive back then. I guess it was the "World Famous Bob's" that threw me for a minute. Nicely preserved.

I lived in Tacoma between 72-77 I stopped in a few times. It looks much more commercialized now. A woman owned it at the time. They had psychedelic posters on the walls and her very amateur sons band played music. Thanks for the memories.

Pretty fun shot of one of Tacoma's hot spots! Voted
Kym Backland replied:
Christine, Thanks for giving your vote to this iconic spot. As Washingtonians, it seems we never take picture of the tourists spots for our own gallery.. People always ask me "where are you from?" I say... "HERE" Washington.. but they think I am lying.. anyways... thanks for the note and vote today!

It IS Route 66ish. Kym, I really like the eye you have for creating interesting photos.
Kym Backland replied:
Hey thanks Don! I didn't see you were here four days ago. Thanks for commenting. I know it's Route 66-ish. Emphasis on the ISH! If it's 1950's, campy, tacky, I'm there! Iappreicate your "glib" sense of humor! thanks for the compliments too Don!
