It was a beautiful weekend a few days ago! Lovely sunset for all the Mother's and people going to go be with their families for the holiday! The Mountains were out in their full glory. Then in the shot with the sunset cruise, is the iconic Adventuress. It is the jewel and pride of the Seattle Waterfront. She's a beauty! Oh how I love this ship!
In 1913, John Borden II of Chicago, founder of the Yellow Cab Company, took possession of the luxury schooner Adventuress. Yacht designer B.B. Crowninshield had watched over her construction and the slender-hulled, gaff-rigged schooner was launched at the Rice Brothers' Yard in East Boothbay Maine. On her maiden voyage, Adventuress sailed down the east coast, through the Straits of Magellan and up to arctic waters. Borden's mission was to secure a bowhead whale specimen to complete the whale exhibit at the American Museum of Natural History. Borden was unable to secure a specimen because of an unusually early formation of pack ice and over...
Capturing a moment in time, is one of the best emotions. I love seeing something thru the lens and holding it near you as long as you can. I like for that image to be caught by surprise. A pure emotion. That to me is usually the most interesting. Anyways.... Photography is my medium. I do enjoy photographing those "Funny Animals" I see along the way........Laughter gets you thru a lot of hard times...I appreciate you taking the time to see what I see..... As you might have noticed I have never written a biography about myself for over 2 years. I figured I had better write one now. I'm definitely not going to write my "BIO" in the third person, so that I sound more important than I really am. Should I warn you that I have "run on"...

Oh, Kym! This is almost like the Ketch I sailed on around the Caribbean in the late 1960s. It's owner brought it up out of the Caribbean sea. It had long before sunk and was abandoned. If abandoned, anyone can claim a boat and bring it up and refurbish. That's what the owner of the boat I was on did. This is similar to that boat, except the one I was on had an aft mizzen mast, but this is so close and brings back some delicious memories. FAV/L
