Here is another terrific pink grapefruit colored sunset, at our beach! So calm and serene! A most calm and beautiful place to be that day. A winter sunset, where we could actually see the sun! The clouds parted and the rays of warm pink toned light came screaming through for us to enjoy that night! Who says Washington can't have a beautiful sunset in the dreary days of winter! I love these days of cold and DRY weather! Those are the Olympic Mountains located in Washington State in the background. The Brother Mountains can be seen to the right of this photo. Many times I take my rowboat and row across the bay to a little store and get a sandwhich and watch the Purple Martins fly around and have cool nests that are provided by the local marina. It's a beautiful place to live and be on the beach and the water. The Brothers are a pair of prominent peaks in the Olympic Mountains which are located near the Hood Canal in Washington state on the boundary between Olympic National Park and The Brothers Wilderness.The south peak, rising to 6,842 feet (2,085 m), is 192 feet (59 m) higher than the north peak. No official trails approach the summit, but the south peak is considered a non-technical climb. The Brothers' distinctive double summit is clearly recognizable from Seattle.In 1856, surveyor George Davidson named these mountains in honor of Ellinor Fauntleroy's two brothers. He named the southern peak Mount Edward and northern peak Mount Arther. Ellinor later became his wife.

This is lovely, Kym! I visited Washington for the first time in early Fall of last year, and while it had been too fry for quite this much color, I definitely enjoyed picking blackberries!
